Around markets nowadays, I often see cooking tools or kitchenware that are made from silicone. They come in various shape and color. My sister bakes cake, and she also has silicone tools in her kitchen drawer.
When silicone tools first came in the market, I was kinda skeptical whether it’s food-grade and safe if contact with high heat. So I looked on the internet for some legit articles about this silicone material that now widely used as kitchenware.

indianexpress.com , Lakshita Jain, founder of NUTR says that silicone is a synthetic (rubber) that contains “bonded
silicon and oxygen and, in some cases, carbon”. People often think of silicone
to be plastic. Silicone comes from silica or sand quartz. Instead of carbon,
the “main ingredient of silicone is silicon”
Silicone cooking tools or kitchenware are said to be low cost and long-lasting. It also can withstand high temperature up to 220oC. With its flexible and soft texture, silicone tools are safe for kids, non-scratching, and since it barely expands or contracts even with sudden temperature changes so it also safe for frozen storage. Unlike plastic, silicone barely retain odors or colors from food that it has contacted with.
Ice molds, cake molds, or any kind of food molds from silicone material with any unique shape are now available widely too. This is made possible because nowadays, many industries accept custom silicone molds order for big companies and then they sell them to retail store. It’s amazing how various and unique there are.

For example, you can make an ice ball with a perfect round like this, or a beautiful rose-shaped ice like this. A good drink, with a good touch of décor in it is indeed a good experience.

Talking about silicone
tools also reminds me about feeding utensils.
What if I switch my glass
feeding set into silicone feeding set?
Then I won’t worry if it’s
falling and breaking, right?
It’s safe and economical too!

Silicone feeding set is usually known for babies equipment, but I don’t find any harm if it’s
for adults too right? XD
